Hall of Fame - 2nd Class of Inductees

These young men have added greatly to the J-E Cross Country program with their effort and dedication to the sport of cross country.

Mike Marrero - 2006 - 2009

Marrero was a four year J-E Cross Country scorer from 2006 to 2009 and a two-year captain his junior and senior season.  Mike ran in two state meets - the first being the 2008 State Meet held in Sunken Meadows, Long Island where he finished 13th (17.28) on an incredibly hilly venue near the banks of Long Island Sound and the second being the 2009 State Meet held at SUNY Plattsburgh where he placed 10th in a time of 16.23.  Marrero helped the team win the 2009 Liberty Division over arch rival Marcellus and was hugely instrumental in J-E's 2007 Section III Class C-1 championship and their 2008 Class C Co-Championship by finishing 5th (16.53) and 4th (16.57) respectively.  Mike was a three-time All Division runner and had a very successful freshman year at LeMoyne College where he was the team's # 1 runner.

Keith Carney (1988 - 1991)

Keith Carney was a four year vasity runner from 1988 until 1991 and was J-E's # 1 scorer in 1990 and 1991.  Carney was a member of three league championships and helped stretch J-E's consectutive wins to 39 as he was on J-E's undefeated league championship teams as a freshman, sophomore, and junior.  Carney's overall record while a varsity runner was an incredible 31 and 1 over his career.  Carney just missed qualifying for the State Meet in 1989 where his finished 13th (16.30) in the Sectional Finals.  Keith had 10 top five finishes during his dual meet career and was the co-winner of the Phoenix/Cazenovia double dual meet from September of 1989.  Carney ran nine races where he was in the 16-minute arena.

Paul Barbaglia (2001 - 2004)

Paul "Grizz" Barbaglia was a varsity runner for J-E between 2001 and 2004 and was J-E's leading scorer in two of his four years of varsity.  Barbaglia led the team in scoring his junior and senior years, and lead the team to the 2004 Liberty Division crown.  Barbaglia competed in four Section III Championships with his best showing in 2004, his senior year, finishing 13th.  Paul was 27th in 2003, 22nd in 2002, and 101st in 2001 Sectional races.  Barbaglia finished 3rd in the 2004 B'ville Invite and 2nd in the Tully Invite the same year.  Barbaglia's lone win was in 2003 vs Caz. and CBA at J-E's home course (17.33).  Paul had ten top 5 finishes in his career and will forever be remembered at "The Grizz" for his love of steep hills and muddy courses.  A quiet leader, Barbaglia had the respect of his teammates and opponents alike.

Greg Bader

Bader is the most recent addition to the J-E Cross Country team Hall of Fame and is a 2011 graduate.  Bader ran four years of cross country, and was an instrumental captain his last two years of competition.  Bader ran in the 2010 NYSPHSAA State Cross Country Meet on the hilly  Pawling, N.Y. course finishing 12th (17.06) after qualifying with a 5th place finish at Sectionals (17.26) on a slow and muddy VVS course.  Bader is known for his leadership and his firestorm pre-race speeches as he was one of the most passionate competitors in J-E XC history.  Bader's dramatic freshman year sectional race (29th place - 17.16) sparked the Eagles to a C-1 Section III crown and his 11th place finish in 2008 helped J-E become Co-Section III champs in the bizzare 62 - 62 tie with Holland Patent.  Bader was a three time league all star and will take his talents to Adelphi University on Long Island in the fall of 2011.

Cody Stanton 2006 - 2009

Cody was one of only two J-E Cross Country runners to ever win a Sectional Championship when he won the 2008 Section III crown (16.32).  In 1997 at Utica Tech, J-E's Jeremy Cornue was the only other male to ever accomplish this feat.  Stanton was a 6-time race winner in his senior season after incredibly winning the first five races of his senior season.  Cody won ten races over his career at Jordan-Elbridge starting with his Junior Varsity victory at the Weedsport Invitational in his freshman year.  Stanton co-holds the mark for best performance in a State Meet as he finished 5th in the 2008 State Meet held oceanside at Sunken Meadows Long Island (17.09).  Once again tying Jeremy Cornue's 1998 feat of a fifth place finish at states.  Cody got his 'feet wet' in the 2007 State Meet by finishing 41st (17.30) on the difficult Norwood-Norfolk course.  Stanton competed in four sectional races finishing 68th his freshman year (9.26), 7th his sophomore year (16.26), leading to his sectional championship in his junior season, and he battled illness his senior year finishing 10th (17.32) or he'd be only the second J-E harrier to run in 3 consecutive state meets.  Mark Schneider is the only J-E runner ever to accomplish this feat (1986, 87, and 1988).  Stanton was J-E's number one man for parts of three years leading J-E to two sectional crowns and a league title.  Stanton just completed his freshman year at Lynchburg State College in Lynchburg, Virginia where he was selected as Cross Country 'Rookie of the Year' in his conference.

Mike Milton (1988 - 1991)

Mike Milton busted onto the cross country scene during his freshman year (1988) and was a four-year varsity scorer for the Eagles.  Milton held J-E's fastest time as a freshman on the Van Cortlandt Park Course from 1988 until 2010 when Jack Gugle broke his record.  Milton had three top 5 finishes his freshman year and was 27th in Sectionals that year.  Mike co-won the September, 1989 dual meet vs Caz. and Phoenix and had another four top five finishes his sophomore year, culminating in his best finish at Sectionals (21st).  Milton never lost a dual meet in cross country until his senior year compiling an incredible 31 and 1 record and three league championships over his four years of cross country.  Milton's greatest race was one that few would ever forget in J-E's dramatic 26 - 29 upset win over Marcellus back in 1989.  Milton was J-E's first man that dramatic day, blitzing the J-E course in a personal record time of 16.33.  Mike ran 8 career races in the 16-minute range.  Milton's son Austin looks to follow in his daddy's footsteps in 2011 by running on the varsity cross country team.
